A BEAUTIFUL VERSION OF MY FIRST LOVE
Laws are basically organised sets of rules for all people to abide by. We all love to break the rules don't we? Our modern society has the ideology to "make our own rules if existing ones don't work". With that in mind, do you genuinely think law can be loved?
On a personal note, I love the law. To my eyes, law is portrayed as an ember amidst the chaos, never to be underestimated and always prepared to succeed in any given circumstance. The power of law is similar to that of a legendary sword; it is entirely dependant upon its wielder. Wield it the right way and it portrays itself as the most magnificent, undefeatable beast, shimmering even in the darkest shadows of injustice.
Speaking of law in India, law is the supreme ruler. It dominates the entire country including the President and Prime Minister of India themselves. It speaks the essence of our proud freedom fighters and portrays the ambitions of the honoured makers of our constitution. Although the law changes intermittently to connect with the dynamic society, the undying essence is always retained.
As the saying goes " the truth is too powerful to remain caged", the truth always finds a way out as lies cannot hold on its deceiving façade for too long. Law is the tool which can break the vibrant glass of lies. It brings out the reality in every possible situation, protects our rights as citizens, provides us with a secure environment to reside peacefully and speaks for us when our rights are abused. Law is our protector, our hero!
Law, albeit just a set of rules, is itself lovable. These set of rules are applied to real world problems and provided they are interpreted and applied the right way, always point toward justice. That is the work of the wielders of law, i.e. the lawyers.
Interpreting and applying the law to a variety of different situations is what lawyers do. Collecting information from a variety of sources, identifying the actual problem (or as lawyers say - 'finding the cause of action'), identifying the legal solution and applying the provisions from various acts to finally unravel the string of events to bring the truth to stage is an extremely enjoyable, challenging and satisfying process.
A lawless world is chaos itself. Can you imagine a world where law does not exist? I bet not! A set of moral rules is inbuilt in every one of us. We live our lives based on the principles we set for ourselves. Likewise, law is the principle of the nation. It is alive, standing right next to each one of us, revealing a charming vision of itself when called for.
